We caught up with K.O.N. from Nashville, TN. K.O.N. is a writer and producer creating a nostalgic soulful sound.
What inspired you to began creating music?
The initial feeling I got when I first went to the studio with my brother jyou was how I knew music was what I wanted to pursue. Just felt good and different than anything I had tried before.
Who are some of your favorite artist?
Artists like Isaiah Rashad, Drake, Andre 3000, Kendrick, Deangelo, Earl , and plenty of others who inspire me. Also grew up listening to a lot of neo soul. I love Erykah badu, Jill Scott, and Maxwell .
What was the recording and production process of the upcoming album ‘Affinity’?
We recorded Affinity in my apartment and pretty much made the entire album there. Mostly everyone featured on the project came by to record. Very much homegrown corn fed music. Afterwards me and Herm worked on it in the living room until it was done. We started in 2022 finished 2024.
Any words of advice for an upcoming artist?
Be yourself and make what sounds really good to you then put it out. Practice as much as possible , do what you love, and relax.
