Announcing her forthcoming EP, Promise, Charlotte Bumgarner delivers her first single in 3
years, a soft and sweet new ballad “Never Say” via Manor Records.
One of the only songs she’s ever written in one sitting, the single came to Charlotte after a
writing dry spell. After finding the chord progression she felt “The song just poured right out like it had been waiting to be written.” With the help of her new band, she explains “I made several different versions of it production-wise trying to figure out what best served the song and it really just took several years to crack the code. Playing with my band really helped open up the possibilities of what the song could be. I couldn’t have asked for a better band to help bring it to life.” Made with friends and collaborators Hunter O’Neal and Harper Kitchens, the accompanying music video effortlessly radiates the essence of Oklahoma summer.
The EP debuts on July 26th on Kansas City’s non-profit label Manor Records.
Charlotte Bumgarner is an artist from Tulsa, Oklahoma. She draws inspiration from a wide
variety of genres, weaving her inspirations together to try and make something new.
Specializing in quiet music, she’s found people want to lean in and listen close - even in the
noisiest of venues. She pulls from folk artists like Joni Mitchell, 90s music like The Sundays and Elliott Smith to create a fresh yet familiar sound. In 2018, Charlotte began self-recording and releasing her music, starting with the single "Where Are You" and the Night Blooming Flowers EP. She continued to perform throughout the local Tulsa scene and expanded her reach by touring regionally. In the spring of 2020, before signing with Manor Records, Charlotte self-released an acoustic set for RSU Radio, which featured her new singles "Honey Touch" and "Haunted House."
After signing with Manor Records, Charlotte released a three-track single series, culminating
with "Red With Love" as the final single. Now, three years later, she is set to release her new EPPromise this July.
