What can we expect from your new project?
The Hat-trick Collection comprises of 9 remastered tracks, all of which are part of FiFTHDWN's previous three projects respectively; Feng Shui, Sea Breeze & Palm Trees, and Different World. These three projects were written, recorded, and engineered by FiFTHDWN, executing the hat-trick. What are your biggest musical influences? The biggest musical influences for me are God first, my family, and the OGs in Hip-hop like Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube, Nas, Jay Z, 2Pac, Notorious BIG, etc. I also have a love for Jazz music. I enjoy watching documentaries, and listening to Jazz greats like John Coltrane, Miles Davis, Thelonius Monk, among others. What got you started making music? I grew up playing basketball. That was my first love. Music was always just something I was a fan of -- searching for and downloading music from my favorite artists on the internet. Once my dream of playing ball became less likely due to injuries and politics, I made the decision to go ahead and graduate college. I knew that was something very important to my mom. I first started recording back in 2012, while I was in college. It started off as a hobby at first, but I started getting quite a bit of positive feedback from people that had heard my songs on campus. Upon graduating, I began investing in myself and started taking creating (rapping and engineering mostly) much more serious. I dropped my first mixtape called 5th Quarter: Overtime in the Summer of 2015, and followed that up with HiGH HOPES in 2017. I haven't looked back since.
