As tasty as it might sound, the new single by the genre-fluid Danish alternative pop artist is an honest story about torn love.
’Extra Spicy Noodles’ is out on June 21st
His deep, rasp almost crooner-like voice has become a trademark for his renowned songwriting and ever-changing ways of producing and recording music. The post-pandemic album, ‘Echoes From An Inner War’, mixed anything from 70’s disco to cabaret pop and ambient moods. This June, IAMJJ returns with a new exciting musical output adding the bittersweet taste of ‘Extra Spicy Noodles’.
”When love gets complicated and frustrating we tend to try and spice things up with a “romantic” trip to Paris or buying that sofa you never needed. It’s like noodles: it doesn’t taste of much but if you spice it up with chili you might be able to enjoy it or at least numb your senses for a minute. If you accept that life has got you in a deadlock maybe it’s time to move on,” IAMJJ aka Jakob Stenfatt Jensen says.
There’s no empty calories in ‘Extra Spicy Noodles’. In addition to the lyrical message about the flaws of togetherness, IAMJJ has also embarked on a new creative journey.
"I've always been inspired by the energy of electronic music. To me, EDM is the new punk - a physical release that connects your mind and body with the beat. That’s the feeling that 'Extra Spicy Noodles' embraces.”
IAMJJ is a Copenhagen-based alternative pop artist. He has released three studio albums while becoming a renowned live artist having played some of the biggest Nordic festivals and several nationwide tours of Denmark. With songs like ‘Homer’, Hitomalo’ and the international hit-single, ‘A Different Kind of Blues’, IAMJJ has amassed more than 25 million streams worldwide.
‘Extra Spicy Noodles’ is out now as the lead single from an upcoming IAMJJ-album set to be released on Mermaid Records.
