Lucky it's Love by OUT At SEA releasing July 9th

London-based Indie-Pop quartet OUT AT SEA are back with a bang in the explosive form of their new track “Lucky It’s Love”, dropping on 9th July. Recorded at Strongroom Studios and produced by Ross Fortune (Friendly Fires, Jess Glynne, Jax Jones), Matt, Mark, Nick and Ben have broken free from their lockdown home studio to create an electric, emphatic banger ready to rock the returning live crowds.

Speaking about the track, co-lead singer Matt said: “It’s all about the cyclical relationship we have with our vices, whatever they may be, as we yearn for thrills and releases but inevitably deal with its consequences.” The darker lyrics are juxtaposed by Matt and Mark’s soaring vocal refrains, bursting with infectious indie rock guitar riffs, synth hooks and driving drums. After taking the track for a test-spin live last year, writer and co-lead singer Mark commented “The feeling you get from an audience singing a line they have heard just 30 seconds before is unparalleled. We knew this track was special and incredibly important to us from that moment. The song was born live, and we love how the recording captures that.”

After the pandemic put initial recording on pause, the band are thrilled to finally release “Lucky It’s Love”, as they feel it epitomises the excitement of life re-opening its doors. On Saturday 4th September, OUT AT SEA will be playing their biggest gig to date at the O2 Academy Islington - their first without social distancing (fingers crossed!). With their dedicated following, who generously helped fund the recording of the new single, it is bound to be a sell out and a celebration of live music returning.

OUT AT SEA fully formed just before the pandemic hit last year (the best and worst time to form a band), and is made up of four university mates Matt, Mark, Nick and Ben. The boys hail from various parts of the UK and bonded over their love of football, 80s synth pop, craft IPAs and 00s alt-rock bands. Their debut EP, Lie A Little, was written and recorded when separated during lockdown, with tracks “Get Myself Together” and “ITWILL” chosen to be played by BBC Introducing Solent on their weekly show. They are looking forward to gigging and releasing more around the country as the world gets back on track.
