Obed Padilla releases the official music video for his recent single with Eddie Zuko, 'Cigarettes And Lipstick'

Following the release of Californian artist, producer and songwriter Obed Padilla’s latest collaboration with Eddie Zuko, 'Cigarettes And Lipstick', today, they share an official music video, directed by Brok Wood. The release of ‘Cigarettes And Lipstick’ last week was the next track from Obed Padilla that gives fans a taste of more of his musical dynamic. The song is a hybrid of the Latin oldies feel so popular at the Chicano barbeque in Oceanside, CA and the Hip Hop nod that is part of the Obed Padilla brand. This is the first of three singles to round out the end of the year for Obed.

Obed Padilla is a dynamic force in the music scene as a singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. Known for his storytelling prowess, Padilla's music transcends mere sound, becoming a canvas for narrating experiences and emotions that resonate with his audience. With roots deeply embedded in Mexico and Costa Rica, his heritage plays a significant role in shaping the unique soundscapes and rhythms found in his compositions.

With the release of ‘Cigarettes And Lipstick’ featuring Eddie Zuko, along with two more singles due to land before the end of 2024, Obed is excited to continue to grow as a Latin artist and tell stories about people who look like him. Obed Padilla truly has something to say and several different ways of saying it.

‘Cigarettes and Lipstick’ is the follow up track to Padilla’s recent single ‘Chicano Poetry’, which marked the beginning of a series of new releases. The track also paid homage to his heritage, contributing to a cohesive stream of music that reflects his identity and solidifies his emerging voice in the alternative hip-hop scene.

More on Obed Padilla…

Obed Padilla of Oceanside, California is a Chicano singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist who is always telling an authentically unique story. With cultural roots from Mexico to Costa Rica and musical influences like the Beach Boys and Kanye, Obed can only be described as the epitome of Latin Alternative music.  Crediting his musical upbringing to his father and playing in his church, Padilla recalls, "I haven't known a lot of preachers who listened to Santana, but my pops pulled off both."

Late last summer Obed established himself as an artist on the rise with the success of the social media only releases of “Brown & Down Freestyle,” “Chicano Poetry,” “A Love Story,” and “Meek Shall Inherit The Earth.” Each one had its own viral moment amassing 5M+ views in aggregate. This gave Obed the momentum he needed to be featured on the Gary Vee Podcast, invited to Austin City Limits, and write songs with some of the most decorated songwriters and producers on the planet.
