NEW DAMIEN SINGLE TAKES ON A BILLIE EILISH VIBE
Acclaimed Ipswich darkwave artist, DAMIEN hints that their next album could have more alt-pop influences than previous works, with the first single, ‘Nowhere’ showing influences of Billie Eilish and Siiickbrain, whilst still being strongly rooted in the ‘Depeche Mode’ meets ‘Nine Inch Nails’ sound that DAMIEN has become known for.
Still brimming with dark, electronic eeriness and DAMIEN’s trademark vocal layers, ‘Nowhere’ splashes moments of delicate beauty, through the use of Eilish inspired harmonies, and raw grittiness, reminiscent of Siiickbrain.
‘Nowhere’ is the first single from what will be DAMIEN’s third album, following from their debut, ‘Girl’ (2021) and most recent release, ‘Wrong Age. Wrong Race. Wrong Gender.’ (2022).
The new album, titled, ‘Candidate For the Abyss’, is set to be released in the latter half of 2023, and will look to build upon the groundwork laid down by the previous two works.
The first single, ‘Nowhere’, will be available for streaming on all major platforms on October 14, 2022 thanks to Gyrostream.
