Introducing The Horn, a London based five-piece indie band composed of Johnny Taylor (vocals/guitar), Danny Monk (multi-instrumental), Nick True (bass), Ed Cox (keys) and Alex Moorse (drums) who have just made their debut EP release. This group got their start in the studio when Nick and Danny booked in a session, but rather than being a simply professional transaction, they decided to make a go of it as a proper band.
Do It Now is a really strong four track EP made up of rip-roaring motivational opening 'Passion', a simmering guitar ballad 'Always Late', a more classic sounding rock number 'Power Show', and finally the title track 'Do It Now'. The EP's finale really hits the sweet spot of British indie rock that is having another heyday right now with listeners trying to look between the lines of algorithm code for something more real and authentic. There's a real gritty energy to 'Do It Now'. You can really tell that this band pulled this song out of their hearts, rather than hiring some anonymous songwriter to put it together for them.
Acting as The Horn's spokesperson, Johnny expresses just how much this song means to the band as a whole: "Without you always wanting it to, this song gets under the skin like a knife and stays with you for days. But really I think it expresses the frustration, which is perhaps that of not being allowed to do something, waiting in line, or just the sheer impatience of what it is to be a human being on this planet.”
