((STREAM!)) Arsenal vs. Nottingham Forest Live Broadcast 12 August 2023

Arsenal held on the for the deserved win and they should have won by a larger margin but their electric first half display was in stark contrast to a sluggish second half. Mixed debuts for Arsenal’s new signings as usual suspects steal the showAll of Arsenal’s three summer signings started and there were mixed fortunes for the trio. Declan Rice was superb in the engine room as he swept things up, got attacks going and even saw a deflected effort hit the post. Kai Havertz was okay as he drifted around in the attacking third and had a 6. 5 out of 10 performance.

Arsenal only edge past Nottingham Forest despite dominant displayArsenal held on for an opening day win against Nottingham Forest as the Gunners made it a lot tougher for themselves than it needed to be. A clinical finish from Eddie Nketiah and a stunner from Bukayo Saka put Arsenal 2-0 up in the first half and they threatened to run away with things. But Forest worked their way back into the game and substitutes Anthony Elanga and Taiwo Awoniyi combined to see the latter make it 2-1 late on and set up a nervy finish.

Jurrien Timber was also solid but only last 50 minutes as he limped off with an injury which will concern Mikel Arteta. Overall, Arsenal’s new signings played like they have been there for years and that is a great sign for Arteta moving forward. What’s next? Arsenal face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Monday, August 21.
